Best Gen Glock 19 - Glock released a line of Gen 4 pistols in early 2010, which emphasized the quality of the trigger and introduced some minor changes. Almost seven years later we are presented with the next generation in the Glock line. The difference between gen 5 is the balance is small in places, but there are some changes that are not immediately apparent.
I have been using my Gen 5 Glock 19 since late August and have put about 4,000 through it since roughing it. It is designed to be careful and dynamic to prevent practice from the hidden, and there is no light left in the block. I have also had some time apart with it, familiarizing myself with internal changes and problems with changing settings (because glocks are favorite toys).

The first best reason to consider this gun is that it is a 19-gauge; arguably the best all purpose handgun ever made. It is large enough to play the role of a firearm and provide accuracy and magazine capacity, while being small and light enough for everyday carry.
Also, the excellent record of reliability provided by Glock pistols cannot be overlooked. From my experience, I have put over 100,000 rounds through Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glock pistols and the only malfunctions I have encountered have been missing non-Glock replacement parts and botched Cerakote job. With stock, the pistol is almost flawless in performance, even in extreme conditions.
Shooting Review: The Glock 19 Gen 5
Starting with the Gen 5, you should consider the new Glock 19 for two main reasons. First, the hair slide bar is now doubled. So if you are left handed, switch the mag-back to the right and you have a fully functional pistol. For those who have a gun like a glock, but don't grip it with a grooved finger, Gen. There is no such thing as a developer.
Gen 5 is very little that is new to shooting, with 2 unique features. The Glock 19 has always been a smooth pistol, easy to control and has always been accurate against 99.9% of shooters. What I learned from this experience is the new Gen 5 barrel and front plane.
Having shot a lot with Gen 3 and 4 Glocks, I noticed no finger grooves visible. I used to use hand warmers to fill my hands and now it feels different. I don't see a bad difference, but the grip fits my hand perfectly and I miss it on this gun. I know many people don't love it, many will love this change.

The new barrel is slotted to double the actual length (a 4" group out to 50 yards, Glock claims). My 20 rounds are smaller with the Gen 5 than with the Gen I get 4 shots. I can't say for sure, but I think this is more accurate because of the barrel.
The Gen 5 cat is probably a little better than the Gen 4, but that's subjective and hard for me to say. The Gen 5 trigger group is completely different from the Gen 4, like a Glock 43. It has a "New York" trigger spring that uses a polymer compression spring and compression spring (not is the expansion spring connected to the cruciform lever. ). I tried the 3.5 lb joint and there was no difference in height. So I tried a 2lb joint and got a 4.5lb press which is what I want in my gun. New.
Most of the 9mm ammo I've run through the pistol is a 115gr pellet, but the competition runs through the standard Federal Premium 147gr Hydra-Shok JHP, Speer Gold Dot 124gr + P GDHP, Federal Premium Premium Premium 124gr HST JHP, Horna. and Hornady Critical Duty 135gr.. all with great respect.
I haven't experienced one in ~4,000 rounds with my Gen 5 Glock 19. The only problem I can report is that in the first 1000 rounds I sometimes have a little discomfort due to the action is chambered for the first round of the newspaper. Instead of the standard "dirty" sound/feel of the slide into the battery, there are occasional "ka-fRUS" that feel like a little dissatisfied with the round chamber. This flaw disappeared after about 1000 rounds and never affected the performance of the gun. Every room on every side was lit.
What We Carry: Glock 19 Gen 5 Mos
As with other Glock pistols, the Gen 5 G19 makes the guard switch to the hand very uncomfortable and often uncomfortable for the strong middle finger when shooting. That's why I want all Glock pistols to have a Dremmel tool attached to the side and bottom of the guard with a handle to create a balance and repeat function there. Other than this problem, the Glock 19 is very simple. There are some people who disagree and find that a G19 or any Glock pistol should be fine without this little change. I found the Gen 5 Glock 19 very comfortable with this modification. Without it, it cannot be used. I personally wouldn't own a bike that wasn't modified like this. You are looking for a soup Gen 6 update.
The Glock 19 is by no means snappy and is easy to control. The magazine position is good and I just had to adjust my grip a bit to get my hand in the perfect position (as I do on all pistols). Even with the minimalist Glock slide-catch lever, my grip often got in the way of the power and I found that the pistol couldn't open the magazine in the past. This is not the fault of the gun. It's all for me.
As discussed, the Glock 19 is larger than anything in its class. But a good and good well on your belt, inside the belt or outside, is easily hidden in many places. I carry a Glock 19 with the light in the appendix position every day and never have a problem printing.
It should be noted, however, that concealment is controlled by the holster and its settings. Most concealed carry holsters are poorly made and do not properly position the gun when concealed. Be careful!

The Glock 19 is fifteen plus one with enough capacity, especially for compacts. There's no mistaking that the Glock 19 sets the standard for great potential in the handgun world.
